Why?
Designed for a specific purpose
The School of Mission is not the same as a regular Bible College. Those who train in this course are specifically preparing themselves to serve the Lord in mission overseas or in Australia. Unless they are older experienced people, they will be currently studying or will have completed GLO's one year course in Tasmania, studied at Emmaus or a similar theological college. The course is from July to November.
Trainees may be trained as teams or as individuals for a specific country or a location in Australia. People who are going independently to a mission field may apply to do our training.
Mission Statement
-To train teams and individuals to be effective servants
of the Lord in mission at home or overseas -

The School of Mission Centre is located at Riverstone, NSW (on the north-west
side of Sydney). The Centre is on a three acre block of land at the end
of the main street in a semi-rural setting. Primary, Secondary and Christian
Schools are all within a ten minute walk. Riverstone has a shopping centre,
banks and Post Office. There are extensive shopping complexes within twenty
minutes drive. It has an electric rail link to the city of Sydney.
You will be living on-site in self-contained units
or in caravans (if needed). Living off-site will not be an option unless
accommodation on-site is fully occupied.
The GLO Centre has a kitchen and dining room, but trainees will cater for
themselves as a part of their training. Food, cooking and eating styles
of the country you are going to may be introduced during the course.

Laurie and Margaret served the Lord in Chad, Africa for eleven years. They have been responsible for training church planting teams for locations in Australia and overseas.
