The duration of the course is 40 weeks. Due
to the fact that some of the students have children, the ESL Course tries to
follow the Australian school calendar year, subject to students' visas, from
February to December.
Each week there are 20 hours of lectures and a minimum of 20 hours of
assignments. The course material covers: grammar, vocabulary, conversation,
pronunciation, comprehension, and Bible English. We have set up a language
laboratory.
Students are encouraged to make social and church contacts with
"native" English speakers. If they have the opportunity for secular
employment (Visa permitting) in the closing weeks of their course, this is
encouraged as it makes them use the English language in a normal conversational
environment.
Applicants are strongly advised to take out some form of health insurance whilst with us. Your health needs are your own responsibility.
